Multicultural NY

I am and have always been fascinated by people places and things especially, landmark locations. The painting depicted here is in Brighton Beach in the New York City borough of Brooklyn near Coney Island along the Atlantic Ocean coastline. Brighton Beach is known for its high population of Russian-speaking immigrants and as a summer destination for New York City residents due to its beaches and its proximity to the amusement parks in Coney Island.
The signs in Russian cyrillic alphabet along side the Brighton Beach B and Q subway stop signs simply frame up the day to day scene of residents, pedestrians and subway travellers. This location is a melting pot, truly multicultural. I suppose there are such locations in Russia where immigrant and residents coexist but this is the one that fascinated me.
