Family Affair

This painting came about while visiting family in California.  My wife and I are not west coast travelers but Thanksgiving gave us an excuse to go west.

Thanksgiving diner was set for the San Francisco region.  We stayed at the Marriott in SF and took some free time to do the touristy thing and headed out.

I love signs, billboards and people and Chinatown had an abundance of them all.

This scene struck my fancy.  The family patriarch making sure all made it safely through the street crossing is typical of tight family bonds.  Not only that but at least three generations were represented there.  It is a story repeated over and over.  I love the story, most stories.  This one is of the Family Affair, hence the title piece.

BTW, Thanksgiving was another Family Affair. Thanks, Sue and Bobby!
