Waiting for Change

This painting is the result of my quest to find the extraordinary in ordinary scenes.  The scene this painting is based on is a couple of river barges loaded with gasoline or jet fuel waiting for a shift change.  The scene was reduced to the exciting long reflection in the river, the boats and the lazy background of hill and sky.  I added a bit of artistic license to make a piece of fine art.  Life on the river might be exciting but it is never as colorful as scenes like this painting.
