Coal Country

This painting is a departure from my chaotic street sceens. It is calm and nature bound in the coal country of central Pennsylvania.  The image is a retired strip n a property near the family homestead. I was attracted to it because of the juxtaposition of the earth moving equipment and the coal processing silos, horizontal and verticle. The colors screamed, yellow, golden and blue.
